CRTS Supernova Discoveries
CRTS has discovered numerous
Superluminous and
Interesting Supernovae.
Here we plot the rate of announced supernova discovered from CRTS compared
to other groups over time.
Here we plot the number of supernova discoveries that have been announced by currently running surveys
based on numbers from the Bright Supernova Archives.
The total number of SNe discovered in proprietary surveys such as LSQ, PS1 and PTF is likely much
higher than those announced. However, only these public SNe are available for the entire
astronomical community to study. The totals for 2013 have been
estimated by multipling the first 109 days of 2013 up to April 19th by 3.348.
